He was born in Harrisburg on December 27, 1926, son of the late Oscar and Molly (Rogers) Heffelfinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marinella Vaughn (Foster) Heffelfinger, who died December 21, 1989.

He served in the U.S. Army with the 28th Military Police, during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver for North Penn Trucking Company, Local 776. He was a member of the American Legion Post 143; VFW Post #7415, New Cumberland; Lower Allen Twp., VFW Post #7530; Steelton Moose; Verhovay Home Association; The Dutch Club and the Fifth Ward Republican Club.

Surviving are Robert Heffelfinger of Etters, Debra Pague of Harrisburg, Frank Heffelfinger of Steelton, David Heffelfinger of Carlisle, Tami Moore of York Haven, John Heffelfinger of Steelton and Pauline Moore of New Cumberland; a sister, Evelyn Marshall of New Cumberland; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., from the Neill Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg. The Rev. Robert A. Graybill will officiate. Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
